Qld: Father of three children faces court

A Queensland man has appeared in court charged with threatening to kill his children.

MARK MCDONALD, aged 37, is facing three counts of writing threats to kill in the Mackay
Magistrates Court in north Queensland.

The charges follow his week-long disappearance with his three children, aged five,
three and two, after he picked them up from their mother's home on an access visit.

The charges are related to a note found last week by police, together with the family's
abandoned vehicle and belongings.

MCDONALD was found with his three children yesterday at Doonan, west of Noosa, in Queensland's
Sunshine Coast hinterland.

The children were unharmed, and were flown with their father back to Mackay last night.

MCDONALD was not required to plea, and has been remanded in custody to appear in court
again on Friday.
