Efforts to save home from privatisation fail

Last-ditch efforts to safeguard council-run home care havecollapsed.

Union leaders and Liberal Democrat councillors had attempted tostall plans to privatise home care in Bath and north east Somerset ata recent meeting on the topic.

But they failed in their bid to keep the service in-house.
