RESEARCHERS from Aberdeen and Edinburgh universities are to takepart in a multi-million-pound project to develop computer methodsto manage the advances in new information technology.
Professor Derek Sleeman, of the department of computer science atAberdeen University, said yesterday the project would tackle thefundamental processes needed to create a knowledge-based economy.
He said: "Knowledge is clearly the most creative force in themodern economy. With developments with the internet, we have fasterand better access to more and more of it. But if it is to be anasset, it has to be managed efficiently."
