Fed: Beazley should let Crean get on with the job - Soorley
Brisbane's Labor Lord Mayor JIM SOORLEY says KIM BEAZLEY is a failed opposition leaderwho should not contemplate a comeback.
Mr SOORLEY describes an interview with the former Opposition leader in today's Bulletinmagazine as a heartless attempt at regaining the Labor leadership from SIMON CREAN.
He's told ABC TV Mr BEAZLEY needs to be reminded that he's had two terms -- and hewasn't a very effective leader because he lost both elections.
Mr SOORLEY says no-one on Labor's frontbench has a chance of taking over the leadership.
Mr CREAN maintains he will be leading the party into the next election despite hispoor showing in the polls, however, Mr BEAZLEY hasn't ruled out a return to the ALP'stop job.
